A very beautiful and creative cosplay, I wish I could credit the model, I always love cosplayers because of the passion they have for their work.

Polina Shlachina is the model :)

10-25-2013

Yesterday, As I was waiting in line to meet Jack and Sally ahead of me were these parents who dressed their daughter as a baby Oogie Boogie. THIS KID IS ADORABLE! Hands down this kid wins the cutest costume of the year in my eyes. The second Sally saw her she gave her the biggest hug and asked Jack if they could keep it. Jack was on the fence about it but eventually came around. Everybody in line wanted to take pics of this kid. Passerby’s and cast members too!

Seriously, This kid’s parents deserve a medal. Parenting: THEY’RE DOING IT RIGHT!

For the people with comments about the child looking unhappy/upset or saying the parents are forcing her to do this and be miserable PLEASE READ THIS!

In acquiesce to comments like this being made about the Baby Oogie Boogie in this photo let me add this:

I’m not a professional photographer with a great camera. Therefor I can not capture perfect moments all the time like the talented cast members of Disney. I was just a patron waiting in line to see Jack and Sally and noticed the adorable Oogie baby and like others in line with me, I snapped as many pics of her that I could. There are many photos of this child smiling with Jack and Sally. I was just not fortunate enough to get any. Jack even asked the child to rub her hands together menacingly for a photo and the sweet child not only did it but she did it with a  big smile on her face. A photo I wish I could have captured.

Next up, Yes it was a warm day that day but the child was not in that burlap costume all day. The parents only put her in it once they were next to see the NBC couple. Why would any parent torture their very young child by keeping her in a very hot costume in 90+ degree weather all day?

Also in my knowledge of kids: if the child didn’t like what she saw or feared Jack and Sally in any way she would have screamed, cried or ran from them. When Sally bent down and had her arms open to her Little Oogie ran directly to her. When Jack bent down to hug her she ran to him too. In my mind that tells me that the parents must have let her watch the movie to get used to seeing their faces once they came across the face characters. Cause at NO POINT did she scream, cry, fuss, or run in the presence of them.

And lastly, take a good look at that little girl, How old would you say she is? 3? 4? 5 at the oldest? Do you remember what you were dressed up as for Halloween at that young? I bet you didn’t. Did you choose your costume? More than likely not. Hell, In my childhood I didn’t get to pick my Halloween costume til I was at least 6 or 7. So the fact that these parents went out of their way to make or buy an amazing, screen accurate costume that no one else would have for their toddler is epic. Maybe to some degree she didn’t like it cause it’s not a witch, princess or faerie but when she’s older she’ll probably look back at pics of that day and think it was pretty neat or creative.

Be kinder with your assumptions on a situation especially when you weren’t there.

Good Day :)”
